This is Chuck Sprauer. I spoke with Chucks mother. It was good to know that he was alive and well. Your mom said that you visited the Wall in DC. I've seen it too. Many people are moved by it, but a thousand years from now it will be buried in the ground. Some archeologist will find it and wonder what the hell it is. They may think that it's a giant tomb and wonder where the bodies are. They'll suspect that it's anything but a monument. How many monuments do you see underground? It reflects the attitude of America on the War, as well as us and all of the men and women who died in Vietnam. My feelings on the wall may piss a lot of people off. But, it's the truth. America may feel some guilt and remorse today, but I still remember returning to friends and relatives who turned their backs on me and every other GI who returned.
